One of only two women to be included in the 2018 Construction Week Power 100 rankings, Nadia Zaal is the chief executive officer of Al Barari, the developer behind the $6.4bn (AED23.51bn) real-estate project of the same name located off Emirates Road in Dubailand.
She is also the CEO and co-founder of Abu Dhabi-based real-estate company Zaya Living, which is responsible for luxury projects in the UAE, such as Zaya Nurai Island, a boutique private island resort off the coast of Abu Dhabi that houses more than 30 stand-alone holiday villas, 23 residential villas, and three food and beverage outlets.
Zaal’s career spans 16 years, and she has spent the past 13 of those years in her current roles. In the last 12 months, she has overseen her firms’ involvement in UAE projects such as the Sunset Villas at Nurai Island, plus The Reserve, The Nest, Ashjar, and Seventh Heaven at the Al Barari master development.
Al Barari is “an environmentally conscious community in Dubai with a focus on sustainability” and features luxury apartments and villas set amid large gardens – 60% of the development is made up of green spaces. The masterplan for the development also includes a spa and health club facility, The Farm restaurant, a hotel, a school, medical facilities, and retail offerings.
The next 12 months will see Zaal working on The Neighbourhood development for Al Barari, as well as the Zaya Living project Zaya Hameni, located in Dubai’s Jumeirah Village Circle, between Al Khail Road and Sheikh Zayed road on Hessa Street.
